Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. For the attention of Mr. Fowler Clark. Dear Sirs, We have yours of the 9th inst., from which we note that one of the lid{A. J. Lidsey} studs has pulled out of the Dagenite 6-volt moulding. We are not altogether surprised to hear this, because you will remember that this was a faked up job for you. Made from a type of box that was not designed for a lid{A. J. Lidsey} and we were not able to mould the lid{A. J. Lidsey} insert at the time of manufacture as we do with our other lidded boxes, and all we could do was to drill a hole in the Dagenite wall, insert the bush and fill it up with compound, which is a very weak job. We hardly think it worth while your returning the battery to us, because all we can do is to do the same thing over again and doubtless you could fix it yourselves in a similar manner. You will realise, of course, that if you wanted to standardise this type of battery a proper and satisfactory job can be made of it. Yours faithfully, PETO & RADFORD, GRMinchin | ||
