but I believe we must do something to get a good silent carb. Changed 3P at least.
E.H. has sent me some particulars of Maybach & Catrcles 12, & 16 cylinder, naturally one cannot see the reason for 16, but 12 seems to be coming. I originally thought 20 years ago (Buzzard) & later because of S.B. & S. motor imperfection & also of superchargers. one must have more than 6, do.
I want to push on with our private venture aero-engine whatever we use it for, apparently we are on the right track & a good scheme.
I am very anxious that for the next show we have a really good .20 H.P., it must be simple. & perform equally & better than any in the world, and we should make larger numbers to get the cost down, because there should be a larger market. then the big car de luxe, which may fall away. with the coming period of economy, if the war does not come. to all ranks I am afraid England will be in a bad way.
Another thing that may help to keep R.R. going would be some good & rapid projects in. ignition compression Engines for enemy purposes, I think that for cost & safety they are the only thing for fast motor boats. for pleasure and (not for racing or speed work). H.A. also thinks we could do something with them in Colonial Railways where electrified would not pay. you will see I have suggested a junior engineer should be constantly on this work, writing for parts or information. I wish I could make the running
