- 2 - (5) re Welding. RMC. will get frame people over and show them how the welding has opened without tearing, also order more frames. This has since been done and some new frames are already available to the modified welding instructions. (6) Braking. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Cry. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} to discuss braking system throughout. This has since been done and a policy decided. (7) Bouncing of Car on Donkey-Back Bridge. No cure has been found for this yet, but the Experimental Dept. are continuing their investigation. The re-bound check scheme should be tested in conjunction with this feature, and should be tried with smaller degrees of rebound. (8) No.3. SpectreCodename for Phantom III. The chassis for this should go ahead to the present instructions. Any frame and suspension modifications to follow will be applicable as and when ready. (9) Gearbox. [Handwritten in margin] Re-Test Experimental Dept. will make further tests to investigate the difficulty of changing when cold, and HBY. will discuss further suggestions. With regard to this gearbox being noisy, investigations should be made to find out whether this is bearing or tooth noise, and design will consider improvements accordingly. The latest type of gearbox will be fitted to No.1.SpectreCodename for Phantom III in conjunction with the fabric coupling, and this box will also have the larger servo, and the chassis the same time will be equipped with same servo braking. (10) Rear axle ratio. All future rear axles will be equipped with the 4¼ to 1 ratio. | ||
