SpectreCodename for Phantom III Progress

A meeting was held of Mr. HRC. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Fm. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ORY. Ba. Bdy. R/JMR. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} on the 28th December to discuss SpectreCodename for Phantom III progress.

The following rough notes were taken by E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and are circulated with a view to providing some record of the various outstanding matters requiring attention.

(1) re. Further SpectreCodename for Phantom III chassis.

A slow running test will be carried out on No.1. chassis and this should be fitted with the new clutch fabric coupling and splineless transmission so as to test the slow running under the right mechanical conditions. The clutch should be ready by next Thursday.

(2) No.2. SpectreCodename for Phantom III.

This is to be re-built with new side frames and existing front suspension, of which a pair are now available with improved welding.

(3) Bumper chassis.

It is still urgent to push forward for a bumper chassis to the existing designs.

(4) New Steering Box.

This should be fitted on to No.1. SpectreCodename for Phantom III in the old steering position cutting away the thermometer boss on the cylinder head if necessary. As a new power unit will be fitted this point should be dealt with on the new engine.
