GRAND CAFÉ DES NÉGOCIANTS VALENCE J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} CLÉMENT PROPRIÉTAIRE TÉLÉPHONE 1-14 SIÈGE DU " VALENCE-SPORTIF " R.{Sir Henry Royce} C. Romans N° 6964 [Handwritten text starts] HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Valence Splendid weather & a very fine trip, car goes well. We have booked to arrive at Le Bouradel Sunday morning. Rg.{Mr Rowledge} not-been warm enough to constitute a severe test, however. We have made the same type of gland leak on the bump. Silencer. Chief trouble with cut-out - open violent popping in the exhaust even with high throttle completely closed. The cut-out certainly seems to aggravate the trouble. Other Points. Speedometer reads fast, goes round to 68 M.P.H. on least provocation. Bad retard vibration above 60 M.P.H. Starter motor functions erratically & refuses to engage when engine cold. Sub-frame bolt & quarks have become rather less obtrusive. Oil being lost through drain holes of o.s. brake drum (axle too full?) Slow running poor. Spare wheel carrier, rather too much vibration. Centre of bolt seems high for small wheel. Rg.{Mr Rowledge} | ||
