ORIGINAL TO ST.{Capt. P. R. Strong} FROM EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} COPY TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [REDACTED] REAR OF PHANTOM 2. +7400 +7460. Some little while ago we were expressly asked by SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} to improve the rear of the P.2. chassis when two wheels were always carried on side carriers. You have in hand a petrol tank which extends back to the rear chassis crossmember for a customers order. We would like to see the design of this as soon as it is ready, and we think a print should be sent to Sales. We have just sent to you a desing for an improved fitting for the petrol gauge on the tank. Sales would like a print of our sheme. N.Sch.3028. We have completed a design of an improved grid for the rear when no spare wheels are carried there, but it is held up for the moment, due to work on radiator shimmy. As soon as possible we believe Sales would like to see a car with all these improvements fitted. They report that about 40% of our cars have no wheels at the rear, and we believe it is matter of interest to R-R.{Sir Henry Royce} Inc. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
