With reference to your memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}2/MH.{M. Huckerby}19.1.39, we have looked through the files and find that during the last seven months the percentage of control rattles in 'KU' series has been 21% and previous to 'KU' series 58% of cars dealt with. The increased clearance of 0.020 has therefore improved matters, but it is not a complete cure. The average mileage that the trouble occurred was 'KU' series - 9,426 and for 'KT' series 7,676. We must not have rattles on BV [Handwritten] GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
