40/50 SEMI EXPANDING CARBURETTER.

Replying to FN.1/WT.6.3.33.

The question of fitting an air silencer to the semi-expanding carburetter was recommended by us originally. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} pointed out however that whilst we were only fitting the semi-expanding carburetter to the Continental type of car, it would mean that the air silencer would be more silent on induction noises than the standard car. He did not wish for this, and therefore it was agreed that until we standardise completely the semi-expanding carburetter it should not have the air silencer.

The next series of Phantom ll cars which will all have the semi-expanding carburetter, will have air silencers when they are available. There is no reason why 20-MY. should not have one of these fitted.
