The following is a copy of telegram received
to-day from Mr. Royce:-

ROWLEDGE BELIEVE MOVING RATCHET POSITION MAKES
LITTLE DIFFERENCE TO ACTION ON PATENT stop
POSTING MODIFIED SIDE SERVO SCHEME WHICH SEEMS
GOOD AND SIMPLE AND AVOID RATCHET ENTIRELY
THUS PEDAL PRESSURE ACTUATES SERVO AS BEFORE
AND PASSES ON TO BACK BRAKES ONLY CONTRIBUTING
ONE QUARTER TOTAL BRAKING stop SERVO ACTS
ON EQUALISING LEVER CONTRIBUTING OTHER THREE
QUARTERS DIVIDED ABOUT EQUALLY BETWEEN THE FOUR
WHEELS PEDAL AND SERVO ACTING IN PARALLEL ON
BACK stop BETTER BACKWARDS BECAUSE ONLY TWO TO
ACTUATE THESE CAN HAVE UNEQUAL SHOES KINDLY
