Contd. -2- EFC4/T7.11.22. conditions of supply and service, was at any rate stated by Mr. Thornton to be decreasing. The Experimental Department can do no more in the matter at the present moment so that if Sales consider that complaints are on the increase rather than the decrease, they should again take up the matter with R.{Sir Henry Royce} through PN.{Mr Northey}, only I believe this has been done recently without effect. We have been endeavouring to carry out the decision made at the Midland Conference with Sales some time ago that we should have two simultaneous standard batteries, for the 40/50. Now that we have one which is suitable for the second standard, we find we cannot get the necessary agreement to standardise this. We thought Sales now understood the whole position, therefore we are surprised at the contents of your note on more than one point. EFC. | ||
