x6093 Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.5/MA. 8.3.33. BRITISH CARBON BRUSHES. In answer to your Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/MS.28/P.7.3.33. regarding the above we are not in a position to standardise British Carbon Brushes. We have already received a note from Sir Henry Royce querying why we have changed over from Le Carbon, to Morganite so that we do not feel justified in making any arrangements for a change from the well-proved Morganite type to a British Carbon Brush of which we have no experience whatever. With regard to the ordering of dynamo brushes for 20/25 Z Series we would say that we are experimenting with Morganite brushes grade EGO, and Link B, and we have suggested to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} that the brushes for Z series on the 20/25 chassis might be ordered up in grade EGO in preference to theEG2 grade we are fitting to cars at present on production. The special feature of the EGO brush at the moment is its reduced wear under high speed running conditions. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
