re. 20 HP. X5770

Referring to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}1/E9.2.29. The model production 20 HP. car has now been all instructed to the Experimental Dpt. Mr. Coverley considers he will have this car completed in two to three weeks.

It would not be possible to make use of 10-G3 for this test because one of the essential features is to fit the central oiling scheme and this alters a number of parts on the chassis. What we have arranged is that we are going to use the body off 10-G3 and shall then dispose of 10-G3 chassis as a second-hand chassis.

You will remember that BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and myself, with your agreement, agreed that we should not use the smaller wheels on the first car to avoid scrapping the 150 sets of present wheels which we have on order. As both R.{Sir Henry Royce} and Sales are expecting smaller wheels, we recommend that we certainly get their agreement to the policy of using the present standard wheels. We see no reason why we should take the responsibility when the matter is chiefly one of expense. We have already run cars with 19" wheels but these have been on G.4. chassis.

If it is decided that we are going ahead with 19" wheels for the last 150 in 'O' series, then we can quickly arrange to fit smaller wheels to an existing car.for test.
