Bentley Motors (1931) Ltd., D E R B Y ..................Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Bentley bearings. ---------------- It appears to me that we might be taking risks with the two cars that are fitted with A.C.2 bearings, i.e. B. 60 GA and B. 8 GA. As regards B.8 GA, this has only just gone on the road after covering approximately 500 kms since being fitted with A.C.2 bearings. B. 60 GA is in the hands of a customer. What should we do ? Leave these cars alone, until something happens, or tackle them right away and fit them with Hall's metal and No 7 white metal. [The following paragraph is crossed out with a large 'X' and has handwritten initials 'Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}' over it] This idea would be fairly easy where B. 8 GA is concerned, as the car is coming to us in a few days time for final tune up before delivery to the customer, who is not in any particular hurry. B. 60 GA would have to be called in. I should be pleased if you would let me have a reply to my queries as quickly as possible. Incidentally, both cars were quite satisfactory on test.
