re Dashboard Isolation

We are now commencing to fit the new hard rubbers for the above. They do not appear to us to be satisfactory, and we are sending By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} samples of rubbers herewith.

The samples are of the smaller rubber on the front of the dash - A in sketch.

The rubbers appear to be vulcanised in layers, in one case the centre is breaking away due to pushing the bolt through, and the other two, the outer part of the rubber is breaking away, the very small bearing area may have an effect on this. We are afraid these will not be satisfactory in service.
