MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} From HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AJL. c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Y4613 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AJL.2/MJ.1.7.30. DASHBOARD ISOLATION RUBBERS. Referring to MXll/T30.6.30. We find that the new hard rubbers as issued for production are considerably harder than the first set submitted to us and approved in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AJL1/MJ11.3.30. It appears that the mixing of rubber used varies considerably so that one consignment can be harder than another. Will BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} please obtain further samples, more nearly similar to the first approved sample, and after we have approved of the hardness, institute a test in order to keep all future deliveries up to our requirements. With reference to the failure of the small rubber bushes, these should not be made out of strip rubber as they apparently are at present, it is possible to push the middle out when putting the bolt through the hole in the rubber.
