RESULTS OF TEST. The copper joint rings were all showing signs of discoloration in that portion adjacent to the exhaust sparking plug boss, A.2, A.3 & 5 and B.2, & 5 being the worst in this respect. They do not represent any improvement on the existing standard aluminium joint ring. The bedding of the pistons was up to the same good standard as that previously obtained with pistons ground to this special form. An examination of the liner markings after the two hours endurance test showed that there was no appreciable difference in any of the types of liner tried. All liners exhibited the usual characteristic markings in the region of the rubber ring groove and at the trunk portion of the liner. We consider that further running is necessary to show up the relative values of the various liners. Hw/H.R.Young. One Print Attached. | ||
