E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} EY. He. SFT.{Mr Swift} from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} P GRY{Shadwell Grylls} x502 Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}10/T22.1.36. 20/30 HP Rear Axle - LOP.G.57000. N.Sch.4471 and N.Sch.4705. In a memo SFT{Mr Swift}/WNWL/EJ13.1.36, the Works appeared to make a very good suggestion of making parts in common on the rear axle in connection with Phantom III and 25/30. I have seen no reply to this memo but it would be such a big economy that I should like to know what has happened with the suggestion. Further, SFT.{Mr Swift} from time to time recently has been making continuous suggestions for other economies. These I have seen no reply to. Can I take it that when there is no reply that it means these economies are accepted and are being introduced? I am sure all realise the importance for greater economy in manufacture, indeed we have all decided in conference that we were really goingto economise.
