[Underlined]re 25-30 HP. Rear Axle suggestion and other proposals for reducing cost on this chassis.[/Underlined]

Referring to Sft.{Mr Swift}1/WNW/EJ.13.1.36 and Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}10/T. 22.1.36, we have agreed to the proposal to use the [Underlined]Phantom III[/Underlined] centre box on the rear axle on 25-30 HP. and this [Strikethrough]has been Instructed for production[/Strikethrough]. Although, however, the [Underlined]25-30[/Underlined] hypoid axle and the [Underlined]Phantom III[/Underlined] axle have both completed standardisation tests the [Strikethrough]combination[/Strikethrough] has not been run and at our fortnightly design meeting [Strikethrough]with Experimental we arranged[/Strikethrough] that such an axle should be prepared at the earliest possible moment, to be fitted to 22-G-V, and if not possible to get this on the car before it leaves, for the axle to be sent out afterwards.

With regard to [Strikethrough]the other suggestions put up[/Strikethrough] by Sft{Mr Swift}, I would like to assure you that these are receiving every attention, and that we have already arranged for a number of them where necessary to go on 22-G-V.{VIENNA}

It will be realised that in a number of cases it is not advisable to jump in and alter production without making arrangements for testing to comply with the standardisation conditions.

In cases where we have completed our examination and recommendation of economy suggestions we sent you a copy of our memo, and this has already been done in about half a dozen cases, and will be continued.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
