Mr. Johnson.

Re De Dion Oil and attached.

We have not the means at our disposal to run elaborate tests for the efficiencies of oils, but the following are the results of the rough test we have made with this oil in comparison with our standard oil, - Prices B.

Chassis used on test 1201.
Oil pressure. 15 lbs. per sq. in.
Distance run on dynamometer 10 miles.
Power at 1500 r.p.m. Good) same as Price's B.
Power at 2000 r.p.m. Good)
Smoke in Exhaust Slight, rather more than with Prices B.
Engine not quite so free as with Prices B.
Carbonization of cylinders occurred to same extent as with Prices B.
Rather more viscous at normal temperatures than Prices B.

This oil compares fairly well with our standard oil on the above points, but we cannot definitely recommend it because we do not know that the engine will wear so well as we have found it to do with Prices B.
