RESULTS AFTER DAY'S MILEAGE OF 526. 6/6/33

N.S.F. lost 11 cc.
O.S.F. lost 3 to 4 cc.
N.S.R. lost 3 to 4 cc.
O.S.R. lost 3 to 4 cc. not so good as with vent.

All dampers have been checked & topped up with oil after the day's run.

RESULT AFTER SECOND DAY'S MILEAGE OF 526 7/6/33

N.S.F. lost 10 cc.
O.S.F. lost 3 cc.
N.S.R. lost 3 cc.
O.S.R. lost 3 cc.

ALTERATION TO DAMPERS AFTER DAY'S RUN 7/6/33

NEAR SIDE FRONT. Original damper fitted with gland packing made of asbestos impregnated with graphite grease.

OFF SIDE FRONT Not altered, large air capacity cover, gland asbestos tallow.

NEAR SIDE REAR New wedge shaped bronze washer fitted (but too small in dia.) Asbestos gland impregnated with tallow, air vent as before.

OFF SIDE REAR Not altered, vent stopped up, wedge shaped bronze gland, asbestos tallow. Test started 8/6/33

All dampers checked for level of oil ( bottom of fillerplug)

RESULT AFTER DAY'S MILEAGE OF 502. 8/6/33

N.S.F. lost 3 cc.
O.S.F.lost 2 cc.
N.S.R.lost 4 cc.
O.S.R.lost 2 cc.
