-2- It is essential with high rear boots that the base of the light be kept as low as possible. The driving mirror on 8.B.5. appears to be suspended from the top of the screen but not low enough down for correct rear vision. Its correct position should be opposite the centre of the backlight, as a brief inspection of the optics of the layout will shew. Although on the standard Bentley we have the mirror on the capping at the screen base, on B.5. this may not be possible due to the high rear boot. This lower position should be used if at all possible as the upper one causes the sun visors to be short, or gashed to miss it. Either treatment tends to render them ineffective. The complaint concerning the sun visors(No.3) has been made before. We suggest that you get a sample set of sun visors from a Rover car, as these are thought to be good. We are sending you a pair of Minx visors of which we have suggested that you use the fittings on 10.B.5. The seats complaint (No.4) we have already taken up with you and the front seats of 9.B.5. are distinctly better. We have already written to you on this subject and no doubt those of 10.B.5. will be even better. Complaint (5) re screen leaks will be checked up on 9.B.5. which has the latest channel and rubber seal - 8.B.5. we know to be wrong. Screen vibrations are still with us. We shall await your tests on a circular operating handle which would enable you to place the control more nearly central. The other trouble is slack in the chain when the screen is opened a small way. We have tried several B.5. cars here and they all suffer from this trouble. We have also tried several Rover cars and they have not got the trouble. Will you please arrange to fit a Rover Control to 10.B.5. 3.B.50 30.G.V11, 11.B.5. and 12.B.5. The complaint No.6. arises out of an oversight. We mentioned no cigar lighter in the specification we admit. Cont'd..... | ||
