Dear Sirs,

Re: Bentley 8.B.5 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}

As a result of a tour in Europe our Mr.Grylls makes the following comments on the coachwork of the above car:-

(1) The back light is not deep enough for adequate vision in the driving mirror.

(2) The driving mirror is at the wrong height to be of any use. It should be level with the rear light.

(3) The Sun Visors when lowered not only obscure the mirror but always alter its position. Their motion round to the side window is poorly carried out. The Visors on 9.B.5. will not move to the side at all. The Visors on the Hillman Minx are excellent.

(4) The front seats are uncomfortable. The only good seats produced by Park Ward are in 35.EX.

(5) The windscreen leaks water at the bottom corners. It vibrates when opened slightly.

(6) There is no cigar lighter or ash tray that the driver can use.

Complaints (1) and (2) appear to be inter-connected. The car 8.B.5. is still away but we are told that the back light is very shallow, and not nearly so good as that on 7.B.5. or 9.B.5.

Cont'd......
