Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}23/L26513 (contd) 4. bad one. This car is distinctly better than the Daimler or R.R. as regards wobbles. Napier. Dia. of steering wheel 17" Steering reversible both ways. Wodden wheels 880 X 120 To move road wheels through 60° the steering wheel would have to move through 583°. Full lock of front wheels is 56° With both wheels 2 lbs out of balance a wobble can be produced but not a bad one. It does not affect the steering wheel very much. This car is better than Daimler and R.R. but not quite so good as Delaunay-Belleville. R.R. No.2100E. Dia of steering wheel 17" Steering reversible both ways. Wire wheels 895 X 135. To move front wheels through 60° the steering wheel moves through 595°. Full lock of front wheels 68° This car wobbles distinctly with 1.lb out of balance and violently with 2 lbs. It is more noticeable on the steering wheel of this car than on any of the other makes although the Daimler runs it very close. I am obtaining more particulars and will report results of further tests later. H S Haldenby | ||
