Re Chassis No. 7-CA.
X.426 Steering. (Extract)

There was a slight tendency on one occasion for a slow speed wobble, and the steering of this car appeared be particularly free, almost a little too easy to be really nice.

On previous occasions I have suggested as a damping friction, that the thrust on the steering column, or on the vertical pivots on the axle should be made in the form of plain fibre thrust washers, instead of ball thrusts. At the same time it is necessary that the steering be converted to as near as possible centre joint steering, and I am not sure whether our most advanced arrangement is fitted to this particular car, which is now several years old. I am getting Mr. Flatford to report on this.
