Gentlemen,

For attention - Mr. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham.

Replying to your letter of the 7th inst., we would say that when we were carrying out our tests on Millenite Brake Drums we found that brass rivets were less liable to damage the braking surfaces than those made of aluminium, as at high temperature the latter showed a tendency to fuse on the surface of the Brake Drum.

We did not, however, make any exhaustive tests with a view to finding out the best type of rivet, as the great bulk of our Drum testing was done with our Patent Shoes which contain no rivets.

Yours faithfully,

FOR LAKE & ELLIOT, LIMITED.
