| X223 To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Bentley Exhaust Cut-Out. We have to admit that the present Bentley cut-out creates fumes in the bodies of many cars. For this reason it is practically useless. We have been carrying out experiments to find out the nearest position to the present cut-out that we can use and yet overcome the trouble. Attached is a report on the results obtained. Clearly from the point of view of weight it is undesirable to duplicate the pipe and therefore the alternative seems to be to move the cut-out to the position in question. We shall be glad, however, if you will give the matter Design Consideration. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Att: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}13/KW.4.9.34. | ||
