Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}14/KW.3.8.34. FOR DEPOT SHEET. Bentley Exhaust Systems. We have received a complaint of a Bentley Exhaust Downtake Pipe burning away. On present production cars these pipes and front expansion chambers are made in Staybright steel, but the first 190 cars, i.e. from chassis B-1-AE to B-180-AH inclusive, were made in mild steel, and it is these pipes that are likely to give trouble. Therefore in cases where the exhaust system has to be dismantled during the course of any repair work, will you please make a point of examining these parts, and if necessary replace same with Staybright parts.
