~6119. To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} FROM Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Re Bentley Ignition. Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}HX. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}18/E18.12.33 H3 Thanks for your E11/HP.14.12.33 and E10/HP.16.12.33. I have noted with great interest all that you say. I am passing the memoranda along to JLE{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} so that he can deal with the cars already out, and I hope that the reamer will be sent to him as quickly as possible. It rather looks to me as if we ought not to alter the material on the RR chassis until we have had time to get considerable further experience with this material plus the modifications to clearances, etc. which are now recommended No. | I think I am correct in saying that as fitted on HR's it does not give any trouble so there seems no hurry to make a change even if we think the other material is better. I have received this morning two standardisation sheets for signature, X.No.6118, for the 40/50 and 20/25, in respect of Ignition Distributor Contact Finger to DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}346 - do these refer to the matter under discussion? If so, I propose to hold these sheets up for the reasons mentioned above. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WST See me HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
