INCREASE OF INDUCTION PIPE TEMPERATURES AFTER STARTING FROM COLD.

These curves were selected from a number of tests so that the outside air temperature was as near as possible the same for each experiment. It will be seen that the standard exhaust system and the superheated system are little different with regard to temperature rise but both lie above the water heated system.

It cannot be claimed that the above curves give a strict comparison of the three systems for reasons put forward earlier in this report, but as the same fuel was employed for all these tests we are able to see that there is no marked difference between the superheated and standard systems and that both of these show an advantage over the simple water heated system.
