V2924. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 16.11.32. J.2 CHASSIS. With reference to the list of items compiled at the conference with Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} on 2nd. of this month, the following items have still to be issued to R.H.C. (1) Front Engine Mounting. We suggest that RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} should scale up the engine mounting now running on Peregrine in France. (Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}740). (2) Slipper Flywheel. LeC.3276. This is necessary and should be issued by next Monday. (3) Pedal Shaft Connection to Crankcase. R.R.Sch.281. This is very necessary and should be ready by next Monday. (4) Marston Radiator Matrix. R.R.Sch.279. General experience is required with this matrix. If there is any trouble in getting this in time it could be sent out to France separately. (5) Gearbox Shaft. R.R.Sch.239. This is only a small item and enables the gear lever to be moved across the gate without binding. (6) Petrol Pump. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} is looking into the matter of fitting Peregrine pump. This is only a small item. (7) Engine Controls. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has practically finished these as they will not be wanted until the car is almost complete, this should not cause a hold up. (8) Rear Brake Levers to Miss Petrol Tank. R.R.Sch.282. There is no sign of these levers hitting the tank on J.lll although it is unnecessarily close. As this is only a small item it will be worth fitting the new scheme if there is time. | ||
