X6094. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Wst.2/AD. January 26th, 1932. Messrs. Joseph Lucas Ltd. Great King St. {Capt. P. R. Strong} Birmingham. For the attention of Mr. Watson. Dear Sirs, We should be glad if you could inform us of the type of high tension rectifying valve used in your Research laboratories for measurement of coil high tension voltage. We notice in your paper read before the I.E.E. last year, that in obtaining the current factor of ignition coils you used a high tension rectifying valve coupled to an electrostatic voltmeter. This is the valve we have in mind. We should also like to know if you consider that calibrating spark test gaps in conjunction with an ordinary high tension transformer is sufficiently accurate in view of the difference in impulse ratio of certain gaps. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
