AERO DESIGN.
----------

Cylinder Head Investigation.
--------------------------

Schemes have been issued covering an experimental improved 4 valve ramp cylinder head and cylinder block for test on the Kestrel single cylinder engine unit. Detail work on this is in progress.

Further design work is in progress on an alternative cylinder head, known as the pent house roof pattern, for this test unit.

P.V. Goshawk Engine.

A specification for this engine has been arrived at and design work is well in hand.

Roller Bearing Crankshaft, Engine 'A' (Proof Engine).

Design work for this engine is in progress on the crankshaft and crankcase section. A design has been issued which will enable the roller main bearing to be tested out on the existing bearing test rig in the Experimental Department.

Roller Bearing Crankshaft Final Engine 'B'.

Design work on the rearranged auxiliary drives for this engine is in progress.

Goshawk Engine.
---------------

Design work on the following items is in hand:-
Steam separator, Two speed blower, Automatic mixture control, Increased balance weights.

Merlin Engine.

Design work on the final details (oil pipes etc) is in progress.
