Dear Mr.Jones,

Many thanks for your letter of the 6th inst. I apologise for being so long in answering, but I have been trying to find out how the discussion arose.

I find that when our cars go abroad the cylinder bores are treated with mineral oil, and that instructions are issued at the other end saying what precautions are to be taken when the engine is being started up.

It is possible that Mr.Sharp had in mind what brand of oil is being used for this purpose, and this we can discuss with him next time he is at the Works.
