Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} WYMAN BY/Cgh.{W Clough} 4/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 22.9.34. 20/25 HP. CHASSIS - RUBBER MOUNTING FOR ENGINE. As you are aware we have instructed flexible mounting for front and rear of the engine to be introduced at the 51st. chassis in F.2. series, which the Works will commence to put on test during the second week in October, and we understand with this scheme that the suction pipe between the induction manifold and autovac, as per LeC. 4067, is not satisfactory. LeC. 4085 has been produced with a view to overcoming the difficulty in question, and it is suggested that this scheme should be instructed for production, therefore we should be glad if some tests could be carried out quickly with the new scheme, in order to confirm that it will be satisfactory. [Handwritten note] Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} We now have this scheme on 20.GIV and it appears quite satisfactory for flexibility, but we doubt the petrol & benzol resisting qualities of rubber.
