Contd. -2- Ck{Mr Clark}2/T17.2.20. the normal current through them and yet at the same time would be delicate enough to blow with the abnormal currents. The difficulty has been that in the fuses as arranged by Lucas' there is not sufficient margin between the normal and abnormal currents. In the new position now suggested by us, there will be a good margin and the fuse will not be delicate, and will be such that it will blow in circumstances in which it is desired that it should. Regarding insulating material for the fuse holder, we are making experiments with other materials to see if anything better can be arrived at. The fuses will not be hot in normal running conditions. When we spoke of the fuses charring the material of the holder, this was referring to the abnormal conditions. Ck.{Mr Clark} | ||
