Herewith we send N. sch. 2753 shewing the arrangement of the front springs, side steering tube, rubber buffers etc, in connection with the 1.750 offset axle.

We wish to modify the rear anchorage of the front springs in order to perfect the geometry, as this will otherwise be upset by the lowering of the frame.

The front springs now have .2" of negative camber in the loaded position, and lie at 2° to the horizontal. This should retain the existing dumb iron and shackle at the front end. The remaining 1° to 1 1/2° is machined on the axle forging.

It will be seen that some more lock could be obtained by setting the side steering tube in the same way that it is set now. We think however that it will be preferred to use a somewhat straighter tube as indicated.

It will be noticed that the height of the frame above the ground is now 18.150 instead of 19.5 so that the car is level in the loaded position.
