Dear Mr. Grylls,

Many thanks indeed for yours of the 18th, and re shock absorber oil, we shall be very pleased to supply to whatever requirements you may desire, at the figure of 3/- per gallon, plus Government Duty of 1d. per gallon; delivery being either in 5 gallon drums or barrels.

Regarding recent discussion on the subject of grease nomenclature, I have expressed your views to the other oil Companies, i.e. Vacuum, Wakefield, Anglo and Price's, and your suggestions were discussed at some length.

Arising out of this discussion, certain difficulties presented themselves, and it was felt advisable that each of the other Companies concerned should make arrangements to see you personally with a view to getting direct from you the various arguments which you wished me to put forward, in greater detail, and also to enable each Company to express their own views individually. I hope you will agree to this suggestion, as it seemed to me far the better way of handling it, at any rate at the moment.

In connection with Hypoid Gear Oils, from what information I have at the present time it appears that what I told you confidentially still appears to be the case, but before committing myself, I have arranged for a complete chemical analysis to be carried out on representative samples, and would prefer to leave my definite reply over until we have received the result of these tests. I hope to have this through in the course of the next ten days or so.

Meantime, kindest regards,

Yours sincerely,
Gordon. W Evans
