The more we see of the machining facilities available for producing gun parts the more we are certain that barrel producing equipment is going to be the bottle neck. We therefore think that we should immediately order some barrel producing equipment for both 20 mm. and 40 mm. guns. Whatever the requirements of the Air Ministry, if we can provide the existing 40 mm. gun with a reliable automatic feed, we can get an order for 1,000 or so from the Admiralty.
