- 2 - BY14/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 29.12.25. Apparently our anxiety to not over-lubricate the front bearing, to avoid complaints of ineffective front brakes, has resulted in insufficient lubricant being added. We would like to draw Experimental Dept's attention to these complaints, in view of the short period of running in which they have developed, in order that they should check out that our suggestion for lubricating the front hub is right, namely, once every six months. If they think it desirable to lubricate it at more frequent intervals than this, we would like to have the information to incorporate in a pamphlet and in the Instruction Book. The four No.350 bearings in question will have to be replaced against Works policy, as we cannot allocate responsibility for the inadequate lubrication which has caused the trouble. In regard to the No.160 bearing, this was simply a case of rusting due to the presence of water. Here again Works' Policy will have to be charged. For Ps' information, we would remark that we have already informed the Shipping Dept. who consulted us, that the money paid by the customer for replacing the bearing on 116-EM. should be refunded, as it is not the customer's fault.
