X.389H C to MNG Gr{George Ratcliffe}-3-L-10/1/20 OY FROM GR.{George Ratcliffe} Re: - Wire Wheels I have a letter from Mr. Manning on the subject of wire wheels, - a copy of which is hereto attached; also my reply in which certain suggestions are outlined to obtain the necessary fitments for wire wheels for this country. [Handwritten: not attached Cq. Feb 4 '20] Before you left for England, this subject was under discussion, and although we favored the Firestone rim;- still, we were more-or-less of an open mind as to the respective merits of this make and the Goodyear, sample sets of which were sent to England together with the Standweld rim, with a request that certain tests should be made and reports submitted as to the respective values of these rims under test. In view that there is some urgency for a decision, will you please cable me at the earliest moment which rim is favored so that we may proceed with negotiations. Gr.{George Ratcliffe} [Signature] | ||
