The enclosed two sheets will show you that we require most urgently to know the relative merits of the Goodyear, Firestone & Stanweld rims and to obtain permission (in the form of proper standardisation sheets if necessary) to go ahead with one definite type of rim in the U.S. Since Mr. Gardner's letter I have wired Springfield to withhold ordering rims till we are able to instruct them which is best as the result of experiments on this side.
Can you let Springfield have a decision soon?
