P.2. S.M. 2nd Gearbox.

In order to facilitate assembling the box, will you kindly add a tapered extension to the front end of the 3rd motion shaft on the lines of that shewn on N. Sch.4203 and an extension to the 2nd speed actuating lever fulcrum pin, as shewn by N. Sch.4132.

The Experimental Department have found that the synchromesh stirrup pins G.E1215 bind on the stirrup. We think that this may be due to the radius on the pin, which is not specified, and suggest that the thread on the pin be shortened from .380 to .325 and that the counterbore in the fork eyes be reduced from .075 to .050 deep to compensate for the loss of thread.
