PARK WARD. FOUR LIGHT SALOON.
BENTLEY. "A" MODEL. (Peregrine).
SPECIFICATION OF COACHWORK.
CHASSIS. Bentley. "A".Model. "D" Type Steering. Untarnishable finish throughout. 18ins. rims. 5.50ins. tyres. Full details of the chassis are given on the designs supplied.
TYPE OF BODY. Four door four light saloon with sunshine roof. see N.Sch.3462.
SEATING. Four seater. Two sliding bucket seats in front. Rear seat to take two, with folding centre armrest. Cushions and squabs to be to the dimensions given on our designs. The rear seat and cushion to represent the height of luxury. The cushion to have leather base and no seatboard. The side armrests to come down the wheel arches and to hide the ramp in the floor. Brewster type foot rest to be provided for the rear seat.
FRAMING. Body to be very lightly framed in English Ash and built with sheet steel wheel arches made up by the coachbuilder of steel .056ins. thick.
DOORS. Four doors to open at right angles, hung as drawn and to have metal stops. Doors to be made light and thin. If the use of the interior type of lock wouldproduce lightness as well as a thin appearance their use should be considered. Dropping windows to be of Triplex. .187ins. thick. Consideration should be given to the use of the lightest type of window lift you know of consistent with satisfactory operation.
HEAD. Head to covered with straight grained fabric on roof and quarters and every precaution to be taken against "drumming" and "booming". A Pytchley Sunshine Roof to be fitted which is flush all over when closed.
WINDSCREEN. Single piece screen hinged at the top. In view of weight we suggest that 187ins. Triplex be used for the screen in the place of the usual 250.ins. Single Berkshire Electrical Screen Wiper.
SCUTTLE VENTILATORS. Medium size, light type scuttle ventilators, flush fitting. there are no shutters on the bonnet for them to match.
WINGS. Front and rear wings to be finished as far as possible and finally fitted at Derby.
Front wings to be of 14.S.W.G. in the centre and 16.S.W.G. at the sides. No stone guards are needed. Rear wings to be entirely of 16.S.W.G. aluminium. Front wings to be flexibly attached to the running-boards.
