Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.4/JH. 12th June, 1937. Messrs. Silentbloc Ltd., Victoria Gardens, Ladbroke Road, Notting Hill Gate, London.W.11. For the attention of Mr. Harris. Dear Sirs, We are sending you a print of Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}391 which shows the main particulars of a road spring and rear shackle in which we are anxious to try silentbloc bushes. Owing to the unrestricted rebound and the low rating spring, the initial deflection of the spring which is shown as Full rebound gives the large angular movements at the shackle. We should like you to recommend (a) Size of shackle pins. (b) Sizes of silentblocs. (c) Types of shackle and front spring eye anchorage. We should also like to know the approximate prices of the bushes which you recommend. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
