29.5.24. -5- Contd. As regards the specification of the utility test (item No.5) in accordance with our remarks above, this will not be made difficult for the magneto to satisfy. There need in this magneto be no deparature from standard as regards the height of the spindle above the magneto platform and as regards the location of the magneto at the base. The above should give a very good idea of our requirements from the performance point of view, and which we think have been made sufficiently definite without the detailed completion of the specification. It will, however, be understood that our suggestion of making up a magneto on the lines of revolving permenent magnet, stationary armature, automatic advance housed between magnet poles to operate on contact breaker and can only, a sleeve or other means of stabalizing the time functioning of the magneto, are only suggestive, and that other means may be adopted to secure the same ends if thought desirable.
