RR 755 (10M) (DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}130 12-9-24) MS 301225 ORIGINAL STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS. Description of Parts: WEAKER SPRINGS IN SIDE STEERING TUBE. Origin: To reduce road shocks. Experimental Test Report: It is proposed, in cases of complaint with the original Phantom steering with 1.1/8" lead, that the springs in the side steering tube should be changed from 3500 lbs. to 1800 lbs. If found necessary, the .940 worm will also be fitted. Road Test Report: Several customers cars have satisfactorily been dealt with in this way by Paris. It has been agreed that approximately 50% reduction in road shocks can be obtained by alteration to the springs.
