To FNJ from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to EJ. c. to R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to CWB. Y8430 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG26.5.26. Confirming our conversation on the telephone this morning, we understand that Sales desire to try the car fitted with hydraulic shock dampers on the front and medium pressure tyres, under French road conditions before they can finally approve of these modifications. It was agreed that we should also take this opportunity of trying out under French road conditions the proposed improvements to exisiting Phantom steerings which consist of the .940" lead, extra support for steering column and weaker springs in the longitudinal steering rod. We are arranging to send 10-EX car (this is the car which is fitted with the improvements) to WW. tomorrow for R.{Sir Henry Royce} to approve before it goes to France. If R.{Sir Henry Royce} is in agreement, the car would proceed to London for the necessary papers, and Rn.{Mr Robinson} and myself will meet you at Folkstone on Saturday morning. We are preparing certain parts so that we can carry out adjustments in France to the hydraulic dampers and try a range of springs in the side steering tube. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
