To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} PN.{Mr Northey} 48370 R1/M25.8.25. RE. SERVO JAGGERS. 20 HP. and 40/50. X.8370 X.8370 Apparently the less effective cams reduce the tendency for servo jaggers, but Hancock in France says too much foot pressure is required. If this is confirmed I suggest we go back to large cam at 45°. The other modifications possible are slower speed servo - try 25% to 50% reduction - this would be much preferred if it had no other disadvantages. The only other idea is a dash-pot under the servo balance lever - SEE ORIGINAL FOR SKETCH. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
