For the attention of Mr.Barker.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to the Long 10 CF. clutch you have sent us, there are two points on which we would be glad to have your advice.

(1) The face of the pressure plate has a coarse turned finish, (almost a roughing out), and in view of the fine ground finish supplied by yourselves, and our insistance of such a fine finish on the flywheel, we are wondering whether it is intended by the Long Co. to use it in this state, or whether a grinding operation has been accidentally omitted.

(2) The finger adjusting screws appear to be locked by the method of the boss being peaned into a slot in the screw.
Is this regarded as a manufacturer's adjustment only, or can it be used if necessary for equalizing the fingers?
Our reason for asking this is because it appears possible that turning the screw might shear off the means of locking, but we would be glad of your advice on this point.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
