RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} 8457. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.4/WA.{Mr Wallis} 28.6.32. 25-EX. FRAME JELLYING. We want to be able to demonstrate the improvement made to frame jellying by increasing the inertia of the engine. The time necessary to mount the radiator on to the engine, thus increasing the engine inertia, is too long to get the 2 runs on the same day. We should therefore like a suitable fixture made on which we can add, at a moments notice, 200 lbs to the top of the engine. We think it is important that the added weight should be absolutely ridged to the engine. We attach a rough sketch showing a suggested method of adding 200 lbs to the cylinder head.
